The Perigord black truffles (Tuber melanosporum) from Australia have added a new destination to their rapidly increasing market, and made their debut appearance in South Korea this week.
Australia’s Truffle industry seems to be taking off having produced about 1.5 tonnes of Perigord black truffle last year, and with production predicted to exceed 2 tonnes this year and 5 tonnes within the next few years. With the opening of new markets for Australian truffles, it makes truffle cultivation within the country a very attractive prospect.

How to grow truffles

How can I grow truffles? Is one of the most common questions we’re asked here at MSL, be it at a trade show or through an internet query. The simple fact is that in order to grow truffles successfully, you need expert guidance behind you. That’s why, through the partnership programme we will be with you every step of the way, to help you in your truffle cultivation goals. However, there’s also support available for all growers.
