This is another news story
Excitingly, this past month has seen two new truffle finds in England (UK).
The first find was of summer truffles in southern England and was recorded by our truffle-dog-training-school. The
find of summer truffle (Tuber
aestivum/uncinatum) was quickly marked by our truffle hound and was just breaking the
soil surface. The site will now be monitored and the dogs were well rewarded!
The second find was of a rarer white
truffle-like species, known as Choiromyces
spp. These specimens were recorded by our monitoring team
and a good number of fruiting bodies were found growing with a hazel (Corylus avellana) in central England. The site is now being monitored and samples assessed for future study.
