Bulgaria is one of the great truffle countries of Europe. With wild harvests of the most expensive black truffles (Tuber melanosporum and Tuber aestivum syn. uncinatum) and white truffles (Tuber magnatum and Tuber borchii), this country also has an ideal climate for cultivation.

Cultivating truffles in Bulgaria is possible although attention needs to be paid to detail. One of the most important aspects is to check the climatic conditions to make sure that the local area is suited to the species you wish to cultivate. Then, the soil needs to be analyzed and the site carefully planned.
